Hong Kong City Tour?

hi, am planning to spend 4 nights in HK

was wondering if the 1/2 day HK city tour is worth taking

to get a quick orientation of the city?

@ US$32 per person for a 5-hr tour starting 8am

any comments/recommendation? thanks!

Most people on this site, includind the experts would say you don%26#39;t need it. They take you to places you don%26#39;t need to go in order to sell you stuff. The transport system is so good you can do it yrself, And HK is so compact you don%26#39;t need %26#39;orientation%26#39;.

I agree with G. Surgeon. But in the next breath I will say this -- I suppose it is a manner of personal preference.

I%26#39;d want to know the stops on the tour, then I%26#39;d check a good map of HK to see if the trip is worth it. As GS points out -- HK is very compact and easy to navigate.

It sure isn%26#39;t like Tokyo!

Yes some people like the security, and we did one in 1987 or thereabouts, but later discovered this site, which makes it unnecessary. If we ever go to Tokyo, we%26#39;ll probably take one.:-)

i%26#39;m inclined to stay away from these tours

and just rely on the guides/suggestions in this forum to get around HK

i wish they had one of those digi-guide they hv in Paris [PDA GPS-enabled] where they %26#39;walk%26#39; the city streets with ya listening to the commentary, etc...
