Itinerary for 3- 4 week trip in Mid September

I have a few more questions regarding my itinerary, which I keep changing, for our trip!!!!

Beijing 4-5 nights (I want to have 4 complete days) what are your thoughts?

Xian 2 nights - is two nights too many?

Shanghai 6 nights, including day trip to Suzhou %26amp; Tongli or

Shanghai 4 nights

1-2 nights Suzhou %26amp; Tongli

Hangzhou 3 nights

2-3 nights Guilin/LongSheng

2 nights Yangshuo

3-4 nights Hong Kong

Also, depending on the situation in Tibet, we could do a few days there.

What are your thoughts on Hong Kong. We really are interested in main land China and I know HK is supposed to be beautiful, but I%26#39;m not that interested in the shopping and glitter there....it%26#39;s another big city. What do you think. We could cut out HK or do you think we should visit it?

Another question, are Hangzhou and Suzhou %26amp; Tongl too similar and should we not go to all of those places?

Also it seems the concensus is to spend more time in Yangshou and not Guilin?

We prefer to spend at least 4 days in each location to get to see everything without having to have a marathon trip. We can take a few extra days so that we%26#39;re not running ragged.

Any suggestions are so appreciated.

Beijing 4 full days is good idea.

If you stay in Xi%26#39;an for two nights,it is better to visit Huashan mountain for the second day.This mountain is amazing..

I found Suzhou have lots of gardens,Tongli beside the watertown,also lots of gardens.So i will recommend start early visit Suzhou gardens,then stay in Tongli,next day visit Tongli.

Hangzhou is different than Suzhou and Tongli,it is beautiful,you should go,their tea musum is great!2 days is enough,if you brave enough could do a side trip to Huangshan--yellow mountain,but maybe too much in short time

For trip to Hongkong,i never been there,but as your said,there or shopping(famous brand)shopping you could get cheaper in mainland China.If you were thinking to take Hongkong out,i will recommend you to visit Kunming,lijiang old town and Shangrila

Or Guizhou province/Sichuan/lots to recommend...

Actually most beautiful view of Guilin is Yangshuo.So don%26#39;t blame yourself to stay longer in Yangshuo,depending on when you visit this region,longsheng rice terrace also worth going..
