Hotel recommendation in Haikou?

Hi, I would like to get a hotel within walking distance to the shopping area, think it%26#39;s called Guo Mao area. Any recommendations? 4-5star hotel.

Most of the hotels in Guo Mao are Chinese 3*/4* the best of which is probably the Bao Hua Hotel (宝华海景大酒店). For more Westernised standards I%26#39;d recommend either the Mandarin Meritus (5*) which is only a ten minute cab ride from Guo Mao or the Sheraton (5*) on Holiday Beach which is maybe 20 - 25 minutes.

Hey thanks HainanFeilipu for your valuable infomation. I would only be staying in Haikou for only 1 night before going Sanya. Can you recommend me the most accessible hotel that is within walking distance to the shopping and eating? Heard from this forum that Seaview International and Haikou hotel is good and realised from the map that Oscar hotel is near these hotels too.

You might also consider the Haikou Wan Li Long Hotel

(万利隆大酒店) which is highly recommended and slap bang in the middle of Guo Mao on Jin Long Road. Whichever one you choose I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll be disappointed.

Thanks so much for your valuable information. May I know if you would suggest me to stay in Haixiu Rd or Jin Long road? Prefer somewhere where%26#39;s the shopping and eating is plenty at the hotel doorstep.

Personally I%26#39;d recommend Jin Long Lu. There are plenty of shops and good restaurants along it%26#39;s entire length.

I just came back from Hainan. Stayed at Oscar 1 night before going to Sanya and 2 nights after Sanya. Oscar is convenient and clean. We were happy that we chose Oscar. Please read the hotel review and the pics that I posted.

It%26#39;s very convenient for shopping and food. We get an local agent to book the room for us. It%26#39;s cheap to go through him than booking directly. We paid RMB 230/room instead of RMB 3++ directly.However you need to pay him in cash as his company paid for you first. Don%26#39;t forget to change the breakfast to western one where you just need to top up RMB10/person. Well worth it. We hire this guy for 6 days as our driver together with a 12 person van inclusive of petro. You can reach him at 13016288862.
