Traveling through China's major cities -- Laundry question

I will be traveling across China in May and June from Beijing South to Hong Kong and stopping in many major cities. We will be in a city for atleast 3 days. This is a study abroad program, and they advised us that we will probably be doing our laundry in our sink or bathtub.

Any advise to get around this? Like are there any cheap ways to get laundry done or do it yourself? I know what my friends did on last years trip, they bought boxes of undershirts, boxers, and socks very cheap so they didn%26#39;t have to wash them, but ended up washing their clothes in the sink.

The TA of the trip said she got some pieces of clothes dry cleaned through one of the hotels and it cost 50 USD.

Thanks in advance!

If you are lucky sometimes hotels will let you use their laundry for a small fee. It%26#39;s usually the Chinese run hotels tho.

If you are staying in places for a few days ask the hotel staff if there is a laundrette close by. You can leave your clothes there %26amp; pick up the next day.

Or ask the maid staff or bellboy if they know of anyone. They always like a bit of extra money %26amp; may help you out.

Traveling through China's major cities -- Laundry question

Laundry usually only can find in the hotel, since you are not familiar with the location near hotel,it is better do it in hotel,if you stay in Chinese runned hotels, shirts is around 10-20 rmb each, underwear and socks around 5-10rmb each pair.since you stay each place for 3 days, you could do your own

Yes,T shirt you can purchase in the market around 20-30rmb each.

Get ready to warsh yourself,if you met a hotel with good price, use hotel%26#39;s laundry will be fine

Generally hotels charge more than some laundry place around the corner but you need to find it and either have language skills or use good sign language. As an example a pair of socks washed by the hotel will cost 5 to 15rmb. To buy a new pair at Ya Xiu market in Beijing will cost 5rmb max.

5 star hotels charge 5 star prices. Hostels and guesthouses charge much less - I think we paid around 20 Rmb for a %26#39;bucket%26#39; full of washing - in Yunnan last year.

If you are going on a tour then probably you are staying in %26#39;nice%26#39; hotels, so doing washing yourself is about the best idea.
