5hour transit time - what to do in Hongqiao airport area ?

We will be arriving Shanghai Pudong airport on Fri evening 5pm, then transfer to Hongqiao airport for flight to Qingdao which is abt 2300hrs.

Any suggestions where we could go during this 5 hours around Hongqiao airport area for shopping or massage or dinner ?

Any tailor around Hongqiao area that we could go and make fitting before picking up 1 week later on return to Shanghai ?

Thanks

Maybe you could try Bailian Xijiao Shopping Mall, shopping, spa, dinner... are all available there, by taxi from there to Hongqiao airport is around 15 RMB ( very close)

fabric market is very famous for tailor-made cloth with reasonable price but it is usually close after 6pm-6:30pm.

Forget about it, SHA is a pre-history airport, really bad shopping, to get a taxi, you have to wait 30 minutes even when there are plenty of taxis in the queue. Just stay in the airport and watch some movie from your laptop. Of course, if your flight is early morning or late night, you would not worry about cannot get a cab back to the airport, then probably you can head to the city to have some food and get a SPA treatment.

Actually you can do all of this at the HongQiao Pearl City which is 1 10 - 15 minute taxi ride from the airport.

Pearl City - shopping for souvenirs, jewelry, clothing, etc. On the 3rd floor they have even added some tailor shops - no experience with their quality though so I can%26#39;t comment.

Massage - there is a nearby Dragonfly at 3911 Hongmei Lu or you can try YiLi massage across the street - cheaper but not as much atmosphere.

Dinner - At Pearl City you can eat at Bukhara or Rua Thai or you can cross the street and go to the HongMei Lu entertainment street where they have many good restaurant choices including Simply Thai, Big Bamboo, Blue Frog, etc. There are also restaurants down the road by Dragonfly.

Thanks all for the advice.

The nearby shopping malls sound like good option.

you are welcome:)

Different suggestion. As you are going from

one side of the city to the other why not stop enroute. just be careful of your travel time (which is jam time). If you are able please use the maglev and subway and finally the taxi. otherwise you will be crying..

hahaha, crying for the terrible traffic!
