Cost of Splendours of China tour with Virgin

Hi,

We%26#39;re happy with the positive reviews this tour is getting! My wife and I are thinking of booking in 2010, but first need to know a budget.

Ringing Virgin, there is no extension for general enquiries, only bookings, and there is no information on the website.

If you don%26#39;t mind me asking, approximately how much did this tour cost all in? We%26#39;d take the 21 day one with the Thai Beach extension to relax a bit before going home.

I mean with absolutely everything in, like airport parking, travel costs, visa costs, tips, drinks, food, taxes, hidden charges...everything!

If you%26#39;re booking direct with Virginholidays.co.uk, there is a %26#39;Need help?%26#39; link on their homepage that takes to to a %26#39;Virtual assistant%26#39;.

Have you tried this?

I find it really strange that there doesn%26#39;t seem to be ANY idea of prices on their website.

Cost of Splendours of China tour with Virgin

Hi We went on this tour in September 2008.

拢5000 for 2 people (not including Thai extension).

Included visa, tips, hotel before etc all the above you mentioned.

That sounds quite expensive for a (according to Virgin%26#39;s website) 14 day tour unless the hotels are 5*.

We did a 27 day tour of China, with 11 destinations, including flights from the UK, hotels, all meals, internal flights, entrance fees, tour guide %26amp; local guides, all transport.

We paid about 拢2200 each, then a further 拢3 per day per person for tips.

I have just booked this and the cost was 拢2100 for the basic tour including single supplements. I did get a big chunk off that price with tesco club card deal vouchers.

Reservations can give you up to date pricing and answer any questions. they were very helpful when I was booking, except it could be a while listening to music in a phone queue.

Hi i repied a while ago about the cost and that did include absoulty everything even to the car parking at Heathrow airport and petrol etc.

I have some information about the hotels etc we stayed at on the Splendours of China tour :

My website is www.realholidayexperiences.co.uk Just click on the China link.

thanks!

Tiers07,

Thanks for posting that link and useful reviews.

could you tell me whether the evening meals that were included taken in the hotels.

I also read somewhere there were some optional tours that one could take. what were these and did they cost much.

Thanks

Hi, anyone going on this tour in April 2009? I%26#39;ll be there on my honeymoon! Hope to see you there! Can;t wait!

Oh sorry, we paid approx. 拢4000 but that was the China tour and we are staying at an upgraded hotel in Hong Kong and extension of 4 extra nights. But we did get a 10% discount by using opening a Virgin credit card.

Sorry to jump on the post but those that have been on this tour, how many people were there approx?
