Wong Nai Chung Cooked Food Centre

My friend recommends to go to Sheung Kee for the seafood. How do I get to the food centre? By which MTR station and Exit, pls?

Thanks.

Belinda

Wong Nai Chung Cooked Food Centre

That%26#39;s in Happy Valley and not located near an MTR station. Easiest is to catch a tram to Happy Valley from Causeway Bay or Wanchai, and get off at the last stop. Walk uphill along Sing Woo Road and you will see the cooked food centre after a few blocks. It%26#39;s popular and crowded so get there early.

Wong Nai Chung Cooked Food Centre

Hi Belinda, this place is in Happy Valley;no MTR station; to reach it,take the ding ding(tramway),and alight at tram stop -St Paul%26#39;s Primary Catholic School(Wong Nai Chung Rd -Queens Road East).

Then from here, head southeast on Wong Nai Chung Road toward Blue Pool Road, and take a left into Sing Woo Road, continue walking, then you will passed King Kwong St on your right, keep going, and the next lane on your right is Yuk Sau St (in fact before you reach Yuk Sau st,you should be able to see Wong Nai CHung Complex already, and Sheung Kee is on the 2nd Flr).

When taking the tram, enter at the rear, and only pay when alighting at the front. It is a flat rate of HKD2.00.

You may wish to call up for reservation.

Take the tram from anywhere along the tram route to Happy Valley. Get off at the last stop. Walk back 50M and turn right up Shing Woo Rd. It%26#39;s in the same building as the public library and gym(though different elevators), on your right hand side as you walk along.

If you are coming from the Central side, you can also take bus #1 to Happy Valley (Upper) and get off at Sing Woo Road/Yik Yam St station.

From the Causeway Bay/North Point side, bus 19 takes you to the same stop.

Hi Belinda,correction:- the tram stop where I stated should be St Paul%26#39;s Secondary School and NOT St Paul%26#39;s Primary Catholic School.

Trams do not announce stops, and it%26#39;s difficult to tell which particular stop is ';St. Paul%26#39;s Secondary School'; unless you look carefully outside (and by the time you see it, you would have probably gone past the stop). Besides, it%26#39;s nowhere close to Queen%26#39;s Road East.

Anyway, just get off at the last stop after you have gone past the racetrack as it turns into Happy Valley. Everyone else will be alighting so you can%26#39;t be mistaken.

Correct about the tram as it will be the last stop for Happy Valley. Everyone will disembark and the tram will shut down so you can%26#39;t miss it.

Glacierfed- true, similar to bus, tram do not announce stops;well,in all my bus/trams,I take the route with me,and somehow able to disembark at where I want to.

Give some confidence to our poster.

And St Paul%26#39;s Secondary School,as shown on ding ding route map;and well Queens Road East is (not nearby?); it is just across from the race course towards east of Wong Nai Chung.

Anywhere,of course to be on the safe side,is to go until Happy Valley terminus la,and find the way to Yuk Sau St la.

Belinda-besides Sheung Kee,there is also Chang Kee in this cooked food centre. You will find this ding ding guide very useful, and if you can read Cantonese, much better,as some names when translated into English actually is distant from the Chinese.

At Sing Woo Road, consider trying Lotus Garden, just a little further up on the left side of the street (63 Sing Woo Road). The service is usually not very good, but the food is.

mKiara, Chang Kee and ';Sheung Kee'; is actually the same place (Sheung Kee being the Cantonese pronunciation).

Also inside the same cooked food centre is Gi Kee, very popular as well. It%26#39;s quite chaotic when you reach there by elevator, the door opens and staff from both restaurants holler at you and compete for your attention. If you have a particular one in mind, just say so and you will be guided to the correct tables that belong to that restaurant (but more than likely you will need to stand and wait).
