Macau Ferry

I am going to Macau on Thursday 15th May flying Viva Macau from Sydney ETA 19:10. I also need to go to HK immediately afterwards.

Should i buy the ferry ticket online for the 19:30 departure or buy it in the terminal (do i hv to wait for long in terminal though?)

Do you think i still can catch the 19:30 ferry?

Is it better to go to the Macau Ferry terminal and take Turbo jet or take the Cotai Jet from Taipa terminal? Which one is more convenient?

Thanks heaps

Macau Ferry

20 minutes is not enough time.

Cotai jet terminal is closer to the airport. However, turbojet ferries are more frequent.

Macau Ferry

Only 20 minutes is not enough, it%26#39;s very convenient to get to HK from Macau by sea.

I don%26#39;t know where are you get to in HK, the destination is different as Turbo jet and Cotail Jet.

You can book it in advance.

If you want to know more info. please see the Macau government website, it%26#39;s:

www.macautourism.gov.mo/en/info/get2macau.php

Book ferry tickets of Torbo jet. You can book it according to Macau.com. The URL is:

ohttp://www.macau.com/en

Barry09 is wrong - both Cotai Jet %26amp; Turbo Jet land at the Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan, HKG Island. It will take at least 30 minutes from landing to clearing customs %26amp; immigration, plus at least 30 minutes to the main ferry terminal so even if your plane is on time (and international flight seldom are) you%26#39;d be unlikely to get the the Maritime Terminal before 8:15 but if a taxi would take you to the Taipa Pier you could be there by 8pm. Then you must allow for immigration formalities again.

Hi, with an ETA at 1910hrs,it is very unlikely that you will be able to catch the 1930hrs ferry.

As you are leaving immediately to HK on a Thursday, no need to book online;just get purchase your tickets at the ferry terminal upon arrival.

As advised, measuring convenience by frequency of ferry departures, then it is better to go to the Macau Ferry Terminal and take TurboJet.

As you may have noted, from sailing schedules of Cotai Jet,and let say you are only cleared of immigration, then collect baggage, then customs,at (say) 2000hrs,the next Cotai Jet departure is at 2030hrs,then the next ferry departure is one hour later, whereas with Turbojet departure frequency of every 15minutes;you could be arriving into HK earlier with turbojet.

One underlying factor is also the Taipa ferry terminal is next to the airport, but considered too near for taxi driver to go to,and with your luggage, can be ';a bit far'; to walk to,particularly after a long flight from Sydney.

So, our consensus advice is for you to take a taxi from the airport to the Macau Ferry terminal and catch a TurboJet ferry.Taxi fare to Macau Ferry terminal from airport, will be in the region of MOP/HKD60.00(including surcharge for taxi from airport, and only surcharge of luggage in boot);so,do use this indicative fare as a guideline only.

when you arrive at Macau airport, there is also an exchange booth office located in arrival hall, should you need to exchange AUD to HKD/MOP.

The taxi rank is on your right as you exit from customs into public arrival hall.

Turbojet ferry will arrive into HK Macau ferry terminal at Shun Tak Centre which is located at Sheung Wan,HK island.

Agree that it%26#39;s not necessary to buy ferry tickets in advance for a Thursday. I would catch a taxi from the airport to the main ferry terminal (have the destination written in Chinese if you don%26#39;t speak Cantonese or Mandarin). From the main terminal you can choose whether to catch Turbojet (to HK island) or First Ferry (to Kowloon).
