Tour: kumuka or onthego or intrepid?

Hi

From reading other threads I know some people on here are very anti organised tours but due to work etc I think it is going to be a lot easier to do one of these than try and organise it all myself.

Does anyone have any experience of the following (companies or tours):

1. Kumuka - Pandas, Warriors %26amp; the Yangtze tour

2. Onthego tours - Yin and Yangtze

3. Intrepid travel - clasic China

Would be really grateful for any feedback as have only managed to find negative reviews on the internet so far.

Thank you :)

Tour: kumuka or onthego or intrepid?

We went to India with onthegotours and had a great time. We are also considering using them for China.

Tour: kumuka or onthego or intrepid?

I went to on the Nomadic China trip with Intrepid in October and had a great experience. The group was mostly from the UK, but also Denmark and one from the US (me). The group of 11 was mostly early twenties and early thirties and the guide said this group was much younger than most of the ones she%26#39;s had. Not sure what that means as far as what to expect (could be time of year and length of trip, who knows?). Do note that the tour leader is not a tour guide. The difference being that she relied on the local guides for historical information, etc. while her main role was to get us to point A and B and solve problems if any occurred. She did give recommendations and ordered for us at most meals. She was fantastic and spoke English very well. The tour allowed plenty of time for the main sites, as well as adequate time to do your own thing. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. I had such a good experience I%26#39;m actually traveling with Intrepid again to Indochina.

Hope this helps!

I went to China with Kumuka having looked at various Company%26#39;s. On the Go tours is not a real tour company. You are fed into another company%26#39;s tours and tours are not inclusive. You keep paying for all the highlights that should be included .Beaware of their low cost price it does not include many highlights .As the name suggest it is cheap but you end up paying a high price. Intrepid is a good company , good reputation but standard of tour accomodation is not as good as Kumuka%26#39;s . Most of their tours are budget tours you get good quality accomodation with Kumuka and value for money with many inclusions There are a number of very good highligts as well as flights and trains included while visiting this vast country I vote for Kumuka .You will not be disappointed . I am glad I chose Kumuka

Hi guys

Thank you so much for your replies so far. The information is really useful and its nice to hear from other people who have done the tours before. We%26#39;re also looking at gapadventures now aswell. There are just so many to choose from and unfortunately our dates are very limited as we can only get off work on the monday morning and lots of the tours start on a saturday...

Rather late with this response but we didn%26#39;t pay anything extra with onthego and our tour guide was excellent and a registered guide. Yes, we did have other guides at Jaipur, Varanasi, etc. but our guide was very informative and able to tell us a lot about his country. He would also make detours if he spotted anything interesting enroute.

Uluzort only made 1 post - does he work for Kumuka??
