Would be down on the 20 - 24 Dec. Staying at Guangdong Hotel, TST. Please assist to see if this iternary do work out. :)

2. Dinner nearby

3. head down to Fa Yuen Street and Ladies Mkt for shopping again

Day 2 - HK Island

1. Causeway shopping and (where else in HK Island?)

2. Peak in the evening from 5 to 8pm.

3. Lan Kwai Fong/Soho for dinner and drinks

Day 3 - Disneyland (Whole Day)

1. Disneyland till 8pm

2. Night shopping at Mong Kok area?

Day 4

1. head down to Lantau Island early morning (Giant Buddha, Po Lin Monastery)

2. Wong Tai Sin in the afternoon.

3. Avenue of Stars to see the Symphony of lights at 7pm

4. Dinner then shopping again?

Day 5 - flight back home is 6:30pm

*what can i do for the day?

My questions:

1. where is the Esprit Warehouse? good deals over there?

2. any recommendedplace to shop at causeway bay? i know there%26#39;s Jardine%26#39;s Street, Times Sq and Fashion Walk.

3. my partner want to do some shopping for chrismas presents. and we dun really go for branded goods. as long it looks good, it%26#39;s fine. price must be cheap/reasonable.

4. what should i not miss when i%26#39;m there and what should i take out form my iternary?

thanks for your opinions.

Help me in my iternary

1 There is an Esprit outlet on Hankow Road at TST, you may browse their website for more details http://www.esprit.com.hk/

2 Golden Beverley arcade next to Sogo is good. You can find clothing / funny stuff that interest young ladies.

Actually Jardine Street offers things similar to those of ladies market in Mong Kok, but the market is of smaller scale(We call it Ladies market on HK island). Visit it only if you are really into ladies market.

There are many branded shops at Time square, but all the flagship stores are in Central (3 MTR stations away). Thought the goods may not be affordable, it is quite enjoyable just to do some window shopping?

3. Citysuper at the basement of Time Square sells many interesting stuff and food.

4. Actually I have some facts to share:

a. Fa Yuen Street shops close early, around 7-8pm, better visit in the afternoon

b. As you may have noted there will be Christmas decorations in TST area, along the bund and near the ferry pier at Harbour City, don鈥檛 miss it!

c. Many food stores in Mong Kok sells snack e.g. octopus balls, crepe, curry fish balls...you can%26#39;t try all even you skip the dinner

d. You many wnat to try to cross the harbour by the star ferry, just cost HKD2.5 or so. You have devoted most of the time shopping, and different places are good for shopping for different things. For example, I like Causeway bay but I won%26#39;t shop at Fa Yuen Street. So if you can tell me what interest you most, I can give you more hint鈥?/p>

Help me in my iternary

well, i wish to have 30% sight-seeing, 20% food/snacks, 50% shopping (my gf is crazy over shopping).

i dun really know how to tell you what kind of shopping i like. been to hk once in August for biz trip though.

overall, i find nothing at temple st. loved causeway bay, but only had 2 hours spent at Times Sq. no time for other parts in that area.

would be eyeing on the factory outlets. got some address of the factory outlets in this forum for adidas, nike and esprit. but there is no levi%26#39;s factory outlet?? do you know any?

i%26#39;m also going for some gadget shopping. want to get some ipod nano accessories for my gf and maybe some accessories for my psp.

Mong Kok is good for ';electronic products'; such as digital camera and mp3 etc.

You probably can%26#39;t get anything at ladies market, but it is only one block away from the street lined up with electronic goods shop, and it is fun to have a walk.

Fa Yuen street should has some outlet, but goods are displayed in an unorganised manner. Sometimes you can get good bargain, but I am not patient enough to do the tresure hunt. I am not sure which part of Fa Yuen street you are heading, but I think it ended in Mong Kok, you may want to group it together with Mong Kok shopping?

Mong Kok sells clothings suit teens better, not my cup of tea, but you can have a look of Longham place, I like their Christmas decoration.

TST and Causeway Bay is good for fashion. It usually takes me 1 day to finish ony half of TST or CWB in weekends! So do avoid weekends, try to manage your shopping in office hours(but many of the small shops will not open until 3pm) or you have to queue up before the fitting rooms! If your day usually starts early, you may go sightseeing in am, then shopping after lunch.

I have never heard of Levi%26#39;s outlet in HK, you may add a separate topic for help.

thanks for the tips!!

as for the levi%26#39;s factory outlet, it%26#39;s because i seen someone mentioned it here in this forum. anyway, not a problem if there isn%26#39;t any in hk.

i would like to know some nice place for dim sum and seafood.

heard that jumbo restaurant at Abeerdeen is good, what is the price range like? is the location far away from TST? how long to travel?

also read about this place called Lei Yue Mun @ Kwun Tong. far away?

anyone can provide the maps to these places?

i sed ypmaps but can%26#39;t find them.

maybe i got the names wrongly...hmm.

hey,

Can i have the address for the factory outlets? Am interested to go when i visit HK.

Thanks.

Can you read Chinese? There is a website with many restaurant review

www.openrice.com

and you can search for a restaurant by area/type of food/average spending...very informative!

BTW, I am happy to give you some advice:

For dim sum, in Causewaybay, you may try Xiao Nan Guo, just next to Sogo, which serves Shanghai dim sum and dishes, their fried bun is really delicious!

if you are in Central, the Maxim%26#39;s at City hall is good for the view! This one serves Canton dim sum and I think the food and price is reasonable, Lonely Planet also visited this one when they introduce HK dim sum!

There is also Lin Heung Tea House in Central at Wellington street, which opened since some 50 years ago and serves some traditional dim sum that you can%26#39;t find in other places, the settings are different from most of the restaurants nowadays.

As I have also posted in other topics, Chao Inn in TST at 10/F, 1 Peking road also serves good Chao Chau dim sum (you know there are many different cooking streams in Chinese cooking!) + good price + good view.

Please note some of the restaurants only serve dim sum in day time. But most of them open early, so you may have dim sum for breakfast (as many local people do).

For seafood Jumbo restaurant and Lei Yue Mun are famous, there are also Sai Kung and Lau Fao Shan and Lamma Island...

Jumbo restaurant at Abeerdeen is kind of touristy, the comment on the food is not very good, and it is on the Southern part of HK island which is far from TST. But they will take you to the restaurant with a short boat trip which is fun.

Lei Yue Mun also far from TST, you should take the MTR to Kwun Tong first and then change to minibus/taxi. Only the MTR part takes half an hour.

For price range, if you want seafood, I think HKD300 is the average price, depends on what you order.

For Factory outlet, many of them located in factory district and I have not visited before.

But I have shoped at that Esprit outlet on Hankow Road in TST, and there is also IT sales shop at Silvercord in TST which gives 70% off their goods. And the location of both are convenient.

HI Karay,

this is the list of factory outlets i found from this forum.

Thanks Lunzoe,

anyway, how to get to lei yue Mun from the Yau Tong MTR station?

i was told that it is walking distance from there.

do you have the exact address of the place so that i can do a search on ypmaps?

thanks so much.

you have been of great help.

All seafood restaurants are lined up on the same alley called ';Hoi Pong Road';, but that alley is too small to be shown on the map. You may go to Lei Yue Mun Praya Road (you can see this on ypmap)first and then try to keep walking parallel to the coast to Hoi Bun School...Actually you can search ';Tai Fat Hau Restaurant - Lei Yue Mun'; (one of the most famous one among the heap of restaurant located there) under the tourist map tab - dinning %26amp; shopping on ypmap, then the map will mark the location for you.

One more tips, there is a shop selling dryed fruits and nuts at 46A Praya Road Central called ';Siu Heung Yuen'; (I have a packet of dryed date on my desk now), quite popular in HK!
