Ferry from Macau Airport to Hong Kong?

Hi,

I will flying into Macau Airport in May but will go directly to Hong Kong for the first 2 nights before returning to Macau for another 2 nights. I would like to make the best out of this trip and save as much traveling time as I could.

I heard there is a new ferry service (CotaiJet) at Taipa Ferry Terminal, near the Macau airport which goes to Hong Kong Tsim Sha Tshui Terminal.

How far is the Taipa Ferry Terminal from the Macau Airport? Can I walk to ferry terminal? If not is there a taxi or bus service? How much is the fare?

If coming from the airport, is it much faster and easier to take CotaiJet at Taipa Ferry than First Ferry at the Macau Ferry Terminal?

Regards.

Hi,

Cotaijet only runs to HK island, not to Tsim Sha Tsui, so it would be no more convenient for you than catching bus or taxi to the First Ferry terminal. Although the Taipa ferry pier is very close to the airport, the way between them is absolutely not *friendly* for pedestrians carrying luggage, but the route is so short that taxi drivers will often laugh at you if you want to ride between the two places.

Ferry from Macau Airport to Hong Kong?

Hi oisaan,

Thanks for a quick reply.

Sorry, I was abit confused with which terminal is which in HK. But now I am clear about the terminal location.

So, if I choose to stay in a hotel located in HK island, then I should take the CotaiJet at Taipa ferry terminal.

Even the distance between Macao airport and Taipa ferry terminal is short, how much is the taxi fare?

Then for the return, as I will be staying at Metropark Hotel on Macao Island, I should take the Turbojet at Shun Tuck centre to Macao ferry terminal. Am I rite?

Thanks again.

Yes, if you will be staying on HK island then you can catch Cotaijet. It should just be the flagfall taxi fare of MOP/HKD/MOP 13, plus 5 for airport levy, and I think another 5 for each piece of luggage that is placed in the cab boot (if you carry all your luggage inside the cab with you there is no charge).

Returning to Macau also correct; from HK island it will probably be most convenient to catch Turbojet, as the Metropark shuttle bus runs from the main ferry terminal.

Sorry, that should be MOP3 for each piece of luggage placed in the boot. Taxi drivers accept all three currencies mentioned at 1:1:1 exchange, so it%26#39;s cheapest if you pay MOP and most expensive in RMB.

Thanks again for the speedy reply.

Regards.

Hi leongwk, well, they may not only laugh, but grumble,or even coming out and making a public announcement. Well, the culture of taxi drivers in Macao(and also in HK,if one does short trips).

Anyway, forebear, and check Cotai Jet sailing schedules.

Cotai Jet will arrive into HK Macao Ferry terminal which is located in Shun Tak Centre,Sheung Wan,HK island.

On your return back to Macao, from HK,take Turbojet, since your hotel is on HK island, also from Shun Tak Centre, and you will arrive into Macao Ferry Terminal located in Macau Peninsula;then from the ferry terminal, there is a shuttle bus of Metropark hotel that runs until 2115hrs.

Just for your reference, the ferry operator where ferry from MAcau arrives into Tsim Sha Tsui terminal is New World First Ferry. The terminal over here is known as China Ferry Terminal, and its exact location is on Canton Road,TST.

have a good trip;oh yes, in Macao, you may wish to visit Culture Club, where there is a tea room exhibition also. Hope you could find your purple clay teapot-make sure, they securely packed for you. last time,I bought a dragon tea pot,and the packaging was really good and intact.
