Visa at Lo Wu (Shenzhen)

We are planning to go to Shenzhen for a day from HK to do our shopping. We last went a couple of years ago and got our visas at the Lo Wu border crossing. Can someone let me know if this is still possible? A friend said she had heard it is no longer possible to obtain a visa on the spot..... We have Australian passports...... Thanks.....

Visa at Lo Wu (Shenzhen)

Australian passports holders should be able to get visa at border, no change.

Visa at Lo Wu (Shenzhen)

Hi

Did you get your visa at the border - did it take long?

How was Shenzhen?

UK passport holders cannot get the landing visa at Shenzhen. A regular visa is required.

The rules for UK passport holders have in fact been relaxed during the last twelve months or so and visas can be obtained at the Visa Office at the Lo Wu border crossing at a fee of HK$450 valid only within the Shenzhen Economic Zone for a period of 5 days. However, until such time as the Chinese authorities make an official announcement of this change of policy the British Consulate (who are aware that visas are now being issued at the border) are maintaining their advice to obtain the visa in advance of travelling to the border as it is still possible there is a risk of being refused, fined and turned back at the whim of a Chinese immigration official.

This information was given to me by the British Consulate in Hong Kong in October.

Australian passport holders should have no problem obtaining the visa at the border other than the waiting time which is likely to be up to an hour.

I think it is now only US passport holders who are unable to obtain visas at the border.

Thanks for all the replies. We got our visas at Lo Wu last week and it didn%26#39;t take long - probably because we were first in line when the visa office opened at 9 am! It only took a few minutes.... There was a large sign there saying that US passport holders were unable to obtain an on-the-spot-visa; also a list of charges for other passport holders.

My advice would be to get there as early as possible as the lines do get very long later in the day and the shopping ccentre gets jam packed by mid-afternoon. Early in the morning it was empty and easy to find our way around.

Hi. I plan to go to HK this weekend and I%26#39;ll go to Shenzhen also.

I%26#39;m holding Thai passport. Could I obtain visa at the boarder? And how much does it cost?

Thanks.
