Suggestions on where to go for a ';vacation'; from Beijing?

Hi, my 19 year old daughter has now been in Beijing for one month, on a 6 month study abroad/internship program. The program has a ';spring break'; April 4th-April 12th, and she and her friends are trying to figure out what to do during this time. They%26#39;ve seen a good deal of Beijing and surrounding areas on the weekend trips that the group takes, so they are thinking they%26#39;d like to explore other areas of China. Any ideas for interesting areas/things to do that wouldn%26#39;t be too expensive?

Yunnan for a week. Get a cheap flight to Kunming and bus from there.
