Macau or Hong Kong First

My wife and I are arriving in Hong Kong on the 24/05/2009 planning a five day stay at the Langham Place Hotel and then a two night stay in Macua at the Venetian ,would it be easier to go to the macua first or Hong Kong

thanks ????

Macau or Hong Kong First

24/5 is a Sunday, so I%26#39;d go straight from HKIA on arrival to Macau, and spend Sunday night and Monday night in Macau. Then the next 5 nights in HK.

28/ 5 - Thursday, is a holiday - Dragon Boat Day. Nice to see the races in Aberdeen.

Macau or Hong Kong First

Hi! If you will be doing some shopping in Hong Kong, it is suggested that you first go to Macau. Then back to Hong Kong for the shopping. It would be quite hard to carry all your stuff from Hong Kong to Macau then back to Hong Kong for your return flight.

:)

You%26#39;ll save a lot of money on your Macau hotel bill by avoiding Friday and Saturday nights, so I%26#39;d suggest going to Macau first. There is a direct ferry service to Macau for incoming passengers to HKIA - you don%26#39;t even need to go through HK immigration or collect your own bags until you reach Macau - and the Venetian has a free shuttle service from the ferry pier in Macau, so that would work well (unless your flight gets in too late to gatch the last ferry).

Hi, if you are coming into Hong Kong, and departing from Hong Kong, then I suggest,to go to Macau first.

There is a air-sea transfer, from HKIA Skypier to Macau, operated by Turbojet Sea Express.

Their schedules for departure from Skypier is as below :- 1050,1245,1400,1515,1615,1725,1900,2200. Single journey fare is HKD215.00.

Ensure one allows for time to be at Skypier for check in procedures.

Then upon arrival at Macau ferry terminal, you can take Venetian Macao complimentary coach service to the hotel.

Then upon your return from Macau,to HK, since you will be staying in Langham Placa, which is in Mongkok,Kowloon, take new world first ferry to arrive at China Ferry Terminal(on Canton Road),Tsim Sha Tsui, and from here, take a taxi to your hotel.

Take note that 28/05/08 and 29/05/09 are public holidays in HK- Tuen Ng Festival(Dragon Boat) and Bridge Day.

If I may say, in respect of staying in Venetian, sincerely I will advise staying in Four Seasons Hotel instead, which is just next to Venetian Macao.Venetian is really undergoing major restructuring and cost cutting measures. Inf act, its President had just tendered resignation, and staff morale is really low. That is if you still wish to stay in Cotai, though I feel a stay in a hotel in Macau Peninsula will allow one a more productive and time effective visit in Macao. One can stay in Wynn, MGM, Sands, Grand Lisboa, StarWorld, which are in macau Peninsula, and sights are within easy walking distance, and though Macau is small, one can still save time in transport(and also money).

I don%26#39;t think 29/05/09 is a holiday in Hong Kong.

drumbrake:- I think it could be a holiday in Hong Kong.Anyway, you will be happy if it is-right? Enjoy the rice dumplings also. Cheers.

May 28, Thursday, is a holiday (Tuen Ng Festival). May 29, Friday, is not.

Thanks everyone for your comments it all helps
