Beach Resorts?

We are planning a two week trip to Hong Kong at the end of May and was wondering if there are any frugal beach resorts/hotels that we can check out to escape the city for 2-3 days? I don%26#39;t really want to get another China visa we%26#39;re looking for places that are relatively close and don%26#39;t require a visa, and aren%26#39;t super expensive.

Thanks!

Beach Resorts?

If you are not willing to get a Chinese visa, that probably means no Hainan. Vietnam also needs a visa. Your choices are then Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia (Bali). There are some low cost flights - look on AirAsia - but flights to beach places - Phuket, Koh Samui, Bali - are expensive.

You could escape the city by staying in Hong Kong - get a holiday flat on Lamma, Lantau, or Sai Kung.

Beach Resorts?

I spent a few nights at the Macau Westin hotel. Only a 1 hour boat ride from Hong Kong. Nice hotel. It%26#39;s not one of the ';Super'; new casino hotels. It%26#39;s by itself at the end of Macau but has a nice pool and beach access.

However, if you can afford it, I recommend Phuket. 2.5 hour flight, no Visa required, cheap hotels, cheap food and great beaches.
