The Langham or Metropark Causeway Bay?

Hi. Going to Hong Kong in a few months and have the choice to stay in either of these hotels. I read the reviews but don%26#39;t know which to go for.(Metropark gets better reviews but the Langham looks a lot better in the pics).

Wont be eating in the hotel or spending much time there during the day but we are staying for a week so want a nice room and also a nice pool. Also important is easy access to MTR and bars %26amp; restaurants nearby.

Any advice would be welcome!

The Langham or Metropark Causeway Bay?

Can%26#39;t speak for Langham. Assume not Langham Place. Metropark close to MTR. Walking distance from CWB, (15 mins)shopping. In a less crowded area. Supermarket less than 50 m. and good laundry about 100m. Close to a temple, 100m. Food options of various types nearby. Rooms small as usual in HK, unless you can get deal on parlour. Good views on harbour side. Close to park. Has small gym and pool outdoor on roof.Staff good. Owt else you want to know??

Which Langham? There are 2陆 Langham Hotels in Hong Kong. One in Tsimshatsui and one in Mongkok. Eaton (which is affiliated with the Langham group) is located in Yaumatei.

I have not stayed at the Langham but I have stayed at the Metropark Causeway Bay many times. I was very happy with Metropark Causeway Bay and have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel. I was staying in a Parlour Room every time so couldn鈥檛 comment on their standard room.

Thanks for your replies.

It would be the Langham (not Langham Place, unfortunately) in Tsimshatsui.

We can upgrade to a parlour room at the Metropark within the budget - is it worth the extra money considering we wont probably use the afternoon tea included in that rate?

Yes, it is worth it.

Breakfast is included with the Parlour Room. Although breakfast is served at the Panorama Lounge, go to the Cafe on the 2nd floor for greater selections.

The Parlour Room is twice as large as the regular room with a guaranteed harbour view. You will enjoy it.

Metropark Causeway Bay is located in a predominantly residential neighbourhood. I like it because it is not so noisy and busy. It has good access to public transportation and the hotel also has free shuttle bus service to the main Causeway Bay shopping area. The closest MTR station is Tin Hau on the Island line and is about 7~10 minutes from the hotel to the train platform. The A11 Airbus to the airport has a stop almost directly outside the hotel main entrance. Tram and bus stops are also nearby and there are two supermarkets and a 7-11 convenience store.

Go for the parlour, it%26#39;s twice the size with bath and separate shower, and breakfast the included is good, plenty of fat, protein and fruit :-). Snacks and free drinks in lounge are good for unwinding. There is also furniture! Actual couch and chair. Chance to spread out a bit.

OK that%26#39;s really helpful

Thanks!!

I would recommend the Metropark to anyone. As has been said, although slightly out the way, you have public transport (trams, buses and MTR) almost on the doorstep and being slightly out of the way, I found an advantage to be honest.

If you do stay definately upgrade. To have a harbour view room is breathtaking, and I believe the rooms are also slightly larger.

I actually never ate in the hotel, even for breakfast. There are a couple of bakeries very close by, as well as the supermarkets, and they sold the most delicious breads

We stayed in a parlour suite in January last year at the Metropark.

There is a difference bwteen the parlour room and parlour suite - the same price though.

We found it wonderful and can%26#39;t wait to go back.

We spent each evening unwinding in the club lounge looking at the wonderful view with our complimentary evening drinks and nibbles and the breakfasts were wonderful. We also had free computer and interent in our suite.

If you go to their website and click on promotions, they have wonderful long stay packages, at very good prices.

We can%26#39;t recommend them highly enough.

Yes sorry, should have made it clear the parlour SUITE is twice the size. Didn%26#39;t know about parlour rooms as such. Is great if you can get a deal, as we did.
