Which Metro Staion?

Greatly appreciate if someone can tell me which is the nearest metro station to Holiday Inn Shifu Hotel and Guangzhou Hotel ?

Are the metro station within walking distance to the hotels ?

As a comparison which is the better choice for a hotel.

I will be in Guangzhou for 5 nights in May 09 and is now seriously looking for a hotel.

Thank you.

Which Metro Staion?

The Holiday Inn Shifu is right on the pedestrianised ShiFu lu shopping street, and near ShangXia Jiu area. The nearest metro stop is ChangShou Lu station (600 m) Line 1.

The Guangzhou Hotel is in the HaiZhu area and practically on top of the metro station HaiZhu Square - Line 2. [Be aware: There is another hotel of the same name which is on ChangTi lu about 500 m away. So make sure which one you are booking.]

I have not stayed at either; but my preference is to stay at the HaiZhu Square area, because it is near the river, and that makes for nice evening strolls along the river promenade at night.

For central Guangzhou area, fares for the metro ranges about Rmb 2 - 4; depending on the number of stops.

Taxis are cheap and plentiful - usually most destinations would not costs more then Rmb 25 - BUT you have to put up with traffic jams, and atrocious driving habits.
