As i have limited time in Hong Kong, I am just wondering if i should go to City Gate Mall or Stanley Market after visiting the Big Buddha at Lautau. Can someone please advise?
Btw i thought of going to Tai O Village, is it worth visting?
Any suggestion where i should go at night?
Thank you.
City Gate Mall or Stanley Market
If you are looking for shops with name brands, then you should go to Citygate outlet. Stanley is basically at high-end flea market with souvenirs some good clothing (not necessarily branded) as well.
Tai O is a good trip and worth the time if you like the outdoors.
HK is filled with evening activities so it%26#39;s up to you. If you are asking specifically about Lantau, then perhaps a dinner at Tai O.
City Gate Mall or Stanley Market
Stanley is a long way from Lantau. Citygate would be more convenient. If you are looking to shop at markets, then head to Mongkok instead.
Tai O is well worth the extra time. I would go there instead of shopping.
thanks everyone for your information, appreciated.
First night i have plan to go Ladies Street so 2nd Night most likely planning to go Causeway Bay, is there anything i can do there?
thank you.
Agree with glacierfed. Stanley Market is a LONG way from the Big Buddah. Ladies Night Market seems (to me) to have most of what Stanley has.
At night, DO NOT miss the view of Victoria Harbour from Kowloon side.
Did you mean what to do at Causeway Bay? CWB is the center of entertainment district on the Island side. That means you have tons of choices when it comes to shopping, dining and Karoake well into the night. You may want to take a peek at Jardine%26#39;s Bazaar. It%26#39;s another small market that is similar to Ladies Market.
Otherwise, it%26#39;s not really known as a sightseeing area. Happy Valley race course is nearby if you are interested. There is nothing to see though at night unless races are going on, usually Wednesday nights.
Thanks.
Is it advisable to go Lautau on a Friday or Sat?
Go on Friday if you could. Big Buddha and NP360 Cable Car get more visitors on the weekends and you might see some lines.
city gate sucks. trust me.
Just to elaborate on ';citygate sucks'; which is pretty much the truth in my opinion, basically the problem seems to be not so much the number and types of shops as they lack of choice and large discounts. I%26#39;ve got much better bargains on sale in places like Sogo or even Times Square. Mind you I%26#39;m not a great fan of Stanley market either, it%26#39;s a notch above ladies market, but they%26#39;re more reluctant to bargain if that is a problem, though the view is quite nice on the way out, and there are some restaurants - but nothing particularly special. It%26#39;s rather a long way to go for a view and some ';high end tat';.
Thank you all for all the great information that you give to me.
